Letter from our Director of DEI
Hey! My name is Sanjana and I’m the director of DEI for Alpha Gamma Delta! I’m going to be a 4th year in the fall and I’m a Neuroscience major. Outside of Alpha Gam, I am involved with the philanthropy Buddy Jackets as the Logistics/Operations Director, and I am on ATL Satrangi, a Bollywood fusion dance team, as the Social/Outreach Manager.
As Director of DEI, I am in charge of educating and progressing our diversity efforts, both inside the chapter and outside on Georgia Tech’s campus! One thing that I did last semester in my term is implement DEI points, which encourage our sisters to learn about diverse organizations, mostly through participation in events on Tech’s campus. A unique aspect of Alpha Gam’s DEI is that it is a position under the VP of Chapter Wellness, meaning that we consider diversity efforts to be an essential part of sisterhood, and we incorporate DEI into every aspect of chapter bonding overall. Part of the reason why I love Alpha Gam so much is because there is so much respect and diversity within our chapter, and everyone is so willing to learn about others and their culture!
